Keren and Mark have a huge number of family and friends, so they needed a venue that could accommodate almost 200 guests for a civil ceremony and reception. As soon as they drove into Bury Court Barn Keren fell in love with the venue and the surroundings. "The inside of the barn had old oak pillars, wooden floors, brick walls, high ceilings and enough room for all our guests!" They booked the venue a year in advance and had to have a Friday wedding as all the Saturdays had been taken, but everyone enjoyed an extra long bank holiday weekend!
Keren had two bridesmaids which were her younger sisters. They wore untraditional dresses in a mink colour that laced all the way up the back and came just below the knee. There were ten ushers and two pageboys. The ushers hired suits in a dark grey colour with dark brown ties and pink calla lilly buttonholes.
Keren's dress was by Ian Stuart. It was ivory, raw silk with Swarovski crystals. The front was quite plain, but the back was more detailed with buttons all the way down and a flower on the bustle with a small train. Keren also wore cubic zirconia earrings and matching necklace set in platinum and to finish, her Mum and closest friends bought a beautiful white gold bracelet set with diamonds. Her shoes were by Benjamin Adams with very high heels and the straps were decorated with diamantès to match the theme.
The flowers they chose were mainly calla lillies in pale pink and white, mixed with pink freesias and white gerberas all threaded with diamantè crystal beads. The venue itself is beautiful and so all it needed was fairy lights winded round the pillars, white linen table cloths and napkins and white crockery. On each table was a tall glass vase with the bottom filled with cellophane and white gerberas and pale pink calla lillies mixed with bear grass. The bear grass was threaded with crystal diamantè beads which forced the grass to hang over the side of the vase. Pale pink rose petals were scattered on the tables. They had a pyramid cake made from over 100 individual chocolate mousse cakes. It was so big it took three people to carry it out!
We asked Keren what was the best part of the day. "I remember looking around during the ceremony and thinking, all these people are here for us. Everyone we care about had made the effort to come from Dubai, Ireland, Canada, Florida, Jordon and all over England to celebrate our big day. It was quite overwhelming." When asked if there was anything she had learned as an important tip for future wedding couples Keren says "Don't let it become a chore; it should be a fun, stress free experience. At the end of the day you are getting married because you love each other. The most important thing is that all of your closest friends and family are there to share a very special memory with you."
