Kirsty and Peter wanted something natural. They wanted a Spring wedding and needed a venue that lent itself to that season. "We chose The Barn at Bury Court because of its location, close to where we live, but in the middle of the country fields, beautiful gardens and a stunning barn with lots of light."
The bridesmaid and maid of honour wore taupe coloured dresses by Veromia, bought from Mamfi Bridal. The bridesmaid's was tea length with straps, while the maid of honour's was full length and strapless. Kirsty also had two flower girls in white dresses with embroidered butterflies from Adams. All the suits were Bournville brown from Moss Bross with taupe cravats, Peter wore a dark brown cravat.
Kirsty's dress was Symphany by Ian Stuart in blush pink. It had a ruched bodice top with crystals in silk satin, flowing down to a layered skirt in a silk chiffon. She also wore a fresh water pearl necklace and pendant with diamond stud earrings, a rose quartz tiara and veil in the same material as the skirt on the dress. Kirsty's bouquet was made up of white tulips and pink astilbe.
To decorate Kirsty and Peter had butterflies on the chairs in the reception and on a swag of white satin and ivy as these represent the beginning of life and Spring time. They also had topiary trees. The barn has fairy lights on some of the beams adding to the decoration. The table centrepieces were simple vases with white and pink tulips and raffia tied around them. Each centrepiece was dedicated to someone that had helped plan the wedding. For favours they had handmade chocolates in the shape of a bride and groom alternating white and milk chocolate in clear boxes laid on co-ordinating tissue paper. The cake was a four tier in white and pink with cascading marshmallows.
Kirsty says "the best part of the day was the service and standing next to Peter and saying my vows. It was the most important thing I have ever done. We were both so happy, we smiled the whole day through". When asked for advice to other couples Kirsty says, "Don't worry about the tiny details - easier said than done, but on the day everything seems perfect even if it's not. To be honest as the day goes on you forget what the tiny details were even meant to be, as you are caught up in the happiness of the day."
